Community spirit met fierce determination at this year’s Birdie Bash as eight passionate golf duos teed off at sunrise and kept swinging for more than 10 straight hours. Their grit and generosity drove an extraordinary success: over $22,500 raised (and still climbing) to support the United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties.
The funds will directly benefit United Way’s Partner Agencies—local organizations impacting education, financial stability, and health across the region.
10-Hour Marathon of Impact
The Birdie Bash’s Stableford format kept scores rising and heart rates high, but it was the commitment to community that truly powered the day.

Words from the Green
Martin Howe, Executive Director of United Way, reflected on the day’s success:
“Spending over ten hours on the course with this incredible group was a blast—but knowing that our efforts raised more than $22,500 made it even sweeter. We laughed, we competed, and we rallied for something bigger than ourselves. It’s an unforgettable experience that shows just how powerful our community can be.”
A Grateful Acknowledgment
Event organizers expressed their sincere appreciation to Quality Machine and Bridgeport Country Club, whose sponsorship played a pivotal role in making the Birdie Bash a memorable success. Their contributions provided essential support, ensuring the event could deliver both competitive fun and meaningful community impact.
Much credit is also due to Christian Marsh, Birdie Bash founder and longtime organizer, whose vision and dedication continue to elevate the event year after year. Marsh’s commitment to rallying the community around a common cause was evident throughout the day, both in his play and in the seamless coordination behind the scenes.
One Final Swing for Unity
As tradition holds, all teams gathered on the final hole to finish the marathon side by side, symbolizing the unity that fuels real change.
